Introducing Mental Floss Mondays

Mondays always seem to come around far too quickly, dragging along their own brand of anxiety tinged with depression, making for an almost insurmountable week. Here at Our Lived Experience you can tackle your Monday blues with our Mental Floss Mondays, a collection of MUSIC, MANTRAS and MANDALAS..

Sometimes music is the only thing that gets your mind off everything else. Whether you relate to the lyrics, are inspired by the message or buoyed by the beat, we all know its more than just music to us. Reap the benefits of a mantra. It’s a great way to focus your mind during stressful situations, empowering yourself with direction and assisting in the management of depression and anxiety. And aside from the spiritual aspects of mandalas, they help open up avenues of art therapy and healing.

So instead of Monday’s mayhem dragging you kicking and screaming through the rest of the week, check out Mental Floss Mondays for your weekly dose of hope, humour and encouragement. Your Mondays will never be the same again. Here’s a quick taste of what’s to come:

 

Of course music and mantras are open to personal interpretation. Based on this song, my mantra would go something like this:
